The Project
The NZ Windows warehouse is a key development located in the Te Rapa Gateway industrial subdivision. This project involves the construction of a 3,400 sqm warehouse and 440 sqm office designed to support the operational needs of NZ Windows.
The project team, including Calder Stewart and Te Rapa Gateway, worked closely to deliver a practical and efficient facility that meets NZ Windows’ requirements.
Our Role
HD Geo was engaged to provide geotechnical expertise throughout the development process. Our contributions included:
- Site Investigation - Conducted investigations, including hand auger and CPT testing, to support the foundation design 
 
- Geotechnical assessment and reporting - The geotechnical assessment for the development included liquefaction, static settlement and bearing capacity for the structure. 
- Reporting to support building consent application and detailed design for the structure 
 
- Subgrade and Backfill Testing - Ensured subgrade and backfill materials met a bearing capacity of 300 kPa, providing a stable foundation for the warehouse and office structures. 
 
- Project Team Collaboration - Partnered with the project team to maintain clear communication and ensure that the foundation designs supported the building loads and purpose. 
- Working alongside the project team to ensure a smooth design and construction process. 
 
The Results
